Trapped was my attempt at a horror soundtrack. The film was a short by Sara Clyndes, shot around Plymouth in 2012, starring Fifi Roche, Sally Burne and myself. Although the film hasn't yet seen release, I was pleased with the final cut and enjoyed the opportunity to create a score for the film, despite a deadline of only a few days.
The score is built around a central motif, "Annie's Theme", which appears prominently on piano in "Memory Lane" (track two) and is featured in various other tracks. Several tracks didn't make it into the final edit (notably the more action-oriented "Do a Runner"), including the last track, "Soundscape", which is a mix of several ambient demo cues. I later adapted "Annie's Theme" for the score to The Red-Hooded Girl (2013), utilizing it as a motif to represent the film's unfolding horror aspects.
